Thursday, October 30, 1930 CIRCUIT THEATRE PLANS GO FORWARD ford, Nellie‘s uncle, and the role of Tom ‘Bedford, Nellie‘s poor, crippled cousin, will be played by Miss Helen Goldstein of Highland Park, whose playing of the role of "Sister" in the last season‘s production of "The Lady Next Door" won for her the name of a very capable young juvenâ€" ile. Mrs. Norman MacLeish of Winâ€" netka is to play the very important role of the villian‘s rich aunt. The comedy parts in this producâ€" tion of "Nellie" will be played by Milâ€" ton Klee of Glencoe and Miss Jane Gray Doty of Evanston. Completing the group already in rehearsal are Mrs. Benjamin M. Price of Winnetka and Francis G. Fabian of Evanston. Each of them piay several small but important roles. Several small parts remain to be filled, and any who especially wish to take part in the production of this kearty melodrama of 1880 are invited to call at the studio at once. & Prospects Improve The subscription campaign of the season will officially end on Nov. 1. It has been conducted in each town by ‘a local committee, and Mrs. W. C. Shipnes has been chosen chairman in Highland Park and Mrs. Harold Ambler in Lake Forest. Due to the paralyzing effect of the national ecoâ€" nomic situation, the Circuit theatre has been having an entirely upâ€"hill climb toward balancing its budget for the year, but word from the manager is that results of the past week have done much to remove the doubts as is that results done much to to the future. Mr. Frank Kreusch was called upon to tell one of his favorite camp stories, you know the kind that are hard to believeâ€""whoppers" they call them. A typical campfire comedy stunt, "Lily of the Alley" was put on by the Order of the Arrow scouts. To climax the evening‘s program Chief Whirling Thunder of the Winâ€" nebago tribe, who was on the camp staff appeared in costume to put on the "Brave Heart," Indian dance, making a very impressive ending to the interesting evening. The dinner was prepared and served by Mrs. Wright and her staff of the Deerfieldâ€"Shields high school dining room. Much praise is extended her by the scouts and dads for the fine meal and dining room management.
