Mrs. Hopkins announced that the Highland Park board after careful congidetvatittn, had recommended that the dues be raised tn $3.00. A letter was read from the state finance chair- man explaining the need for 100 per) cent cooperation from the local lea-1 gues. Each local member at present' cortts the State league $3.22. It seems only logical omtrials believe, that this amount should be approximated by the sum turned in to the state every year by each local league, as the heel leagues of course could not ex- ist without the national and state or. 'r.anirmtions. They not only formul- ate the programs and supply diree- tion and inspiration, but with the help of their trained workers. they have accumulated an impressive store of authoritative literature in the form of small booklets and pamphlets which may be secured very cheaply. Many Advantages . The proposed increase in dues seems very small compared to the advantages derived from membership in the league, local league leaders feel. "The Illinois Voter," the month. ly magazine which is included in the dues, is full of valuable information. and at the monthly meetings mem- berg may hear state and federal meas- ures dismissed by qualified speakers. The league has begun this fall its election program which it expects to carry out atoll elections with the hope of stimulating an interest in the vote by supply -ttotwpartisatt in- (Continued on page 12) Kedroff Quartet Benefit Bryn Mawr Scholarship Fund Music lovers of the north shore have a rare. treat in store for them in tho concert of the kedrofr quartet, the famous ensemble of Russian trirttr ers. which will take place at New Trier high school auditorium Nov. 10, for the bonef1t of the Bryn Mawr Alumnae Scholarship fund.
