Many Visit- orsrPresent Thursday evening, Nov. 20, I splendid dinner and entertainment was tendered the sixteen charter members of the newly organised Ro. tary club of Deerfield, by their hosts and sponsors. the Highland Park Rotary club. Rotary qtuest delega- tions were present from Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, High- land Park, North Chicago. Wanke- gan, Cicero. Oak Park, Dekalb, Streator, Aurora, Chicago Heights, and Maywood, including a number of members from Chicago Club No. 1. The auditorium of the Deserfield Grammar school was filled to cap.- city, where covers had been laid for two hundred and fifty guests. An excellent duck dinner was served uno der the direction of Clayton Fehr and officials of the Deerfield club; The toustmaster of the evening was Sol St. Peter of the Highland Park Rotary club who surprised the guest aggregation with an entertain- ment that will long be happily re- mombered. Various presidents of the visiting Rotary organizations extended two minute greetings to the new Deerfield club. after which omeers and direc- tors of Rotary International were in- trodueed, each offering in their turn, brief discussions on the endeavors and accomplishments of Rotary in its local and international aims. He charged tho new Deerfield Rotary organization with being true exponents of Rotary, and all that its name and meaning imply. The Rotary charter was presented tn Deerfield by Norme Fultz, Gov- ernor of the 40th District, Ind n grateful speech of uceptance by Prem Jack O'Connell, acknowledged the honors which haw been given the new local club.
