Gourley Acting Mayor at Session Monday Night; Routine Work The meeting of the, city council Monday evening was a short one and devoted tehiefly to routine business. In the absence of Mayor Lewis and Com. missioner Reay, Lyle Gourley was ttp- pointed acting mayor, on motion of Commissioner Zimmer. Commissioner Brown moved to ac- cept the resignation of Mr. Edmund H. Eitel as a member of the library board and that the council extend a vote of thanks to Mr. Eitel for his faithful services as a member of this board. The motion prevailed. Appoint Mr. Gallagher Acting Mayor Gourley appointed Mr. Michael Gallagher :1 member of the library board to till the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. Ed. mund Eitel. Ccmmissloner Zimmer moved that the appointment be con- tlrmed. The motion prevailed. Commissioner Zimmer moved that " ordinance amending the amend. ment to the zoning ordinance of Feb. 17, 1930 be placed on file for public inspection complete in form for one week before its final passage. The motion prevailed. Commissioner Brown moved that the property owner's petitions for the division of special assessments orig- inally levied against Geo. F. Nixon's Highland Park Gardens with certain exceptions, be accepted and that the corporation counsel be instructed to present said petitions to the County Court for approval. The motion pre- vniled. To Buy Tractor Commissioner Zimmer moved the approval of the speeif1eatiorts for a crawler tread tractor and that the city clerk be authorized to advertise for bids under said specifications, said bids to be received by the council in open session on Monday, Dec. 22, 1930 at 7:30 o'eloek p.m. The motion pre- vailed.
