F, Beech, Mrs. Robert Mehren, Mrs. Chester Cleveland, Mrs. R. v. O'Brien and accompanied by Mrs. Curt Apel, whose beautifully blended voices made all feel that Christmas had suddenly arrived, so that all present joined heartily and sincerely in the singing of the last carol. Then, the spirit of cheerful and helpful giving was brought out in the reports submitted by the Social Service chairman and the War Veterans committee. A large number of families have been outfitted with warm clothing and will be supplied with Christmas bas- kets by the Social Service committee. Catholic League Manifests Christmas Spirit in Meeting Thursday, December It, 1980 The War Veterans Committee is now caring for the families ot seven war veterans, with a total of 24 children. These families are each re- ceiving a daily supply of milk and a weekly order of meat, butter, fruit and vegetables and paying for rent and gas in two urgent cases. Through the generosity of club members, these families will have plentiful Christ- mas baskets, including toys for the children.
