The community service was organâ€" ized during the world war to furnish entertainment for enlisted men at Fort Sheridan. It purchased a fine three story building on Central avâ€" enue in Highland Park which is used as a clubhouse. This building was sold in recent years for $70,000 which is being held by the Community Serâ€" vice as nucleus of a fund for the community center, s Reports have been current in the city that the Community Service has purchased the clubhouse of the Highâ€" land Park club. This has been emâ€" phatically denied, however, First United Evangelical Church Rev. C. G. Unangst, Pastor The Lord‘s supper will be celebrated on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. after a short message appropriate to the occasion. It will be very fitting to observe this service at this time for various reaâ€" sons. The sermon will fit into the Christmas thought. The Bible school meets at 9:30 a.m. The Christmas lesson will be used. A large attendance is expected. The Sunday school will have its inâ€" teresting Christmas exercises on Tuesday evening at 7:45. A good proâ€" gram and a large attendance are exâ€" pected. The choir will present the Christâ€" mas cantata at 7:45 p.m. We have been informed that the rehearsals have been enthusiastic; the cooperaâ€" tion has been splendid; Prof. Dinkeloo is pleased and we are assured of a fine musical treat and a great Christâ€" mas message. Among other things the call says: "This New Year‘s Eve should see the earth girdled with revival prayer meetings! The need is supreme and universal, and more apparent this year than formerly. Nations are in distress; affliction is upon the people; horizons are perceptibly darkening; hearts are oppressed."" In response to this call and in harmony with the custom of this church a watch night service will be held on New Year‘s Eve. Full details will be announced. Our people and all friends of the church are urged to help us to make the service a memorable one, The services on last Sunday were lurge in attendance and rich in spiritâ€" ual blessing, coming to a close in m great climax in the evening when the Announcers‘ Trio, of the Moody Bible institute, were with us. A, of 8. & E. R. E. of America, held their biâ€"annual election on Wednesday, Dec. 10 and elected A. F. J, Kjellquist as their president and business agent for the next two years, ‘The installation service will be held in Waukegan on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Christmas Party ‘The Mothers club of the Y. W. C. A. will hold their annual Christmas party, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o‘clock. All members of the club and their children are most cordially inâ€" vited to attend.
