Parents Urged to Attend Because such a discussion as Mr. Richardson is planning will add to understanding and helping the young people in high school to a much more successful and happy school career, it is hoped that many parâ€" ents will attend this meeting. 1 CCE ET ETTY PAE CC GIPC \.llllu’ his parent, and hisâ€" teacher, Mr. Richardson points out. If the stuâ€" dent is not to become the victim of a standardized educational indusâ€" try, there must be the continuous "getting together for the good of the child" by those concerned about his educational welfare. The freshman placement program conseqtiently has for its purnose the discovery of individual ability and achievement, and the placing of inâ€" dividuals relatively similar in probâ€" able scholastic aptitude and achieveâ€" ment in class grouns, to the end that the member of the group may both realize and produce at his maximum level and in harmony with his speâ€" cial aptitudes, talents, and abilities. Understanding Is Necessary This complex problem of selecting No longer has the school a popuâ€" lation of select individuals destined to become the world‘s scholars and intellectual giants, emphasizes Mr. Richardson. Rather, its population is a heterogeneous group of individâ€" uals with varied abilities, interests, and needs. Each individual‘s speâ€" cial abilities must be discovered and provided for through a differentiâ€" ated high school curriculum. That the modern high school has become the school of all the chilâ€" dren of all the people, is a point made by Mr. H. D. Richardson, diâ€" rector of research, who will discuss the subject of "Getting Together for the Good of the, Child" at the P.T.A. meeting to be held tomorrow, October 13. â€" JUNK J. SMITH .
