These chart which have caused so much comâ€" ment are hanging in both schools for study by the voters. The Board of Education of School District 107 held its monthly meetâ€" ing‘ Monday evening. The petitions requestinge the school board to hold the special election were presented and it was unanimousty voted to hold the election on Saturday, October 22 at the Elm Place school between the hours of 12 o‘clock noon and 7:0" p.m. Notices of election have been vosted around the district in acâ€" cordance with the law. The question before the voter is "Shall the grade school tax vote for educational purposes be inâ€" creased from $1.50 to $1.80°?" The outcome of this election wil‘ determine the character of the grade +chools of No. 107 for the next three years. If passed it will reâ€" vplace the $20,000 taken away from the district througch the 15 per cent reduction in valuations by the Board of Review. It is interesting that this High land Park election should follow the <imilar election last Saturday ir Highwood. The voters elected to increase their rate, under the same law, from $1.50 to $1.80 for educaâ€" tional purnoses or a total tax rate in~rease from $2.00 to $2.30 per $100 of valuation. Sinclair and Gourley Speak at Rotary Club The grade school tax of every tay naver, if the incfease in rate is voted, will still be less than this year. If not passed, the Board of Eduâ€" cation has in mind drastic reducâ€" tions in the service of the schoo‘ through the dismissal of many teachers and the crowding of forty to fifty children in each room. _ Jens Jensen has striven for years to help us preserve the natural beauty of our own North Shore.
