Another favorite query is for "Come and Take _l_t," runnersâ€"up. _ The boxâ€"oflice and switchâ€"board of the Harris theatre report the following other wrong titles: i "You Can‘t Take It With Me" "You Can‘t Happen With Me" "Take It Or Leave It" "You Can‘t Take It Away" E "Talke It Away With You." Of course, as soon as one sees the m and hears Grandpa Vanderâ€" philosophy about enjoying life while you may, and mot devoting all your life and energies to work and making money, because, as he says, "You can‘t take it with you, you know," the title immediately beâ€" comes the only one you could posâ€" sibly think of, , However, even the authors, Moss Hart and Geoerge S. Kaufman, were at a loss as to what to call their play while they were working on it, and even when it was completed. The first name they put on the manuscript, was "They Loved Each Other," having no intentions at all of retaining it as the finished title. "Grandpa‘s Other Snake" sounded pretty good for a while, but they were soon talked out of that one. Five titles were finally selected, from which the final selection was to be made. They were: "Moon Over Grandpa" "The Sycamore Tree" "What Of It?" Of this fund, $2,000 beâ€" longs to a "dead fund" or in other words is the amount which is held as bond for the taverns. Deductâ€" ing this amount the city has a balâ€" ance of $12,110.49. There are also some bills outstanding against this amount. . It is hoped that this reâ€" port will ease the minds of those who are eager to censor, when imâ€" provements do not materialize as rapidly as they expect. _ Tavern licenses have been reâ€" duced from $600 to $550. Dance permits have been eliminated for thetime being, but a small yearly charge may be found necessary later, if a special police is detailed at the dances which are given by some of the taverns. * A new police car is ow under discussion and it is quite likely will be purchased in the near future.
