"During the one month of August last year," Mr. Vanderwarf said, "nearly 7,000 trailer travelers enâ€" tered the national parks and monuâ€" ments. In a special thirtyâ€"day surâ€" vey, theâ€" National Park Service counted 1,720 trailers utilizing the park areas, and by means of quesâ€" tionnaires developed interesting inâ€" formation regarding the average trailer user. "Of" the total number of trailer travelers, 44.34 per cent were peoâ€" ple yacationing from their jobs; 21.92 per ‘cent were professional men: 3.6 per cent were farmers; 15.23 per cent were retired, and the remaining 15.01 per cent were enâ€" gaged in miscellaneous occupations." Miss Agnes McNeill was hostess last Thursday afternoon at a garâ€" den party for the bemefit of the British Old Peoples home. LOCAXLS T H E Find Body of Lucille Veeck; Seek Companion The body of Miss Lucille Veeck, 24, of 3711 N. Richmond avenue, Chicago, who was drowned Saturâ€" day at Long Lake with her sweetâ€" heart, Carl Burkhardt, 24, of 650 Barry avenue, Chicago, was recovâ€" ered early Monday. . â€" It was found by Fox Lake firemen and other volunteers who had been dragging the lake since Saturday night. The rescuers were still searching for Burkhardt‘s body. Coroner John L. Taylor was notiâ€" fied of the recovery of the girl‘s body and set the inquest at Strang‘s undertaking parlor at Grayslake so that the body could be removed to Chicago for funeral services. Miss Veeck and her companion went out on a rented boat at about 4 p. m. Saturday. Both were in their swimming suits and apparentâ€" ly expected to swim from the boat. They failed to return to shore. A search was started and the boat containing a pwir of beach shoes and a girl‘s small bag was found. Supervisor Frank Stanton of Grant township. was. iformad â€" of !>~ the bodie Gen. Peyton Is New Commander at Fort Brigadier general Philip B. Peyâ€" ton, formerly commanding officer of the 29th Infantry, Fort Benning, Ga., will assume command of Fort Sheridan and the 12th Brigade August 1. General Peyton was born in§ Nashville, Tenn., on January 22, 1881, and was graduated from the Virginia Military institute in 1901. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieuâ€" tenant of Infantry, Regular Army, in 1904. He has served in the Philâ€" ippine Islands and Alaska, as well as at various continental stations in the United ‘States. During the World war he commanded the 61st Infantry in the St. Mihiel and Meuseâ€"Argonne offensives. During those actions he received the Disâ€" tinguished Serviceâ€" Medalâ€"and the Silver Star for the leadership of his gegiment.
