The first party of the season was at the Willow ‘Tree barn, west of Deerâ€" field, with Mrs. Carl T. Anderson and Mrs. R. E. Pettis as hostesses; the second al Gleugables in Glonâ€" coe with Mrs. Irving Brand and Mrs. Harry Baum as hostesses; the third at the Hearthstone in Hubâ€" bard Woods with Mrs. Alexander Willman and Mrs. Delbert Meyer as hostesses; the fourth at .the Chimneys in Winnetka with Mrs. John R. Notz and Mrs. Fred Silâ€" jestric as hostesses; and the fifth at the Green Tea Pot in Highland Park with Mrs. Elmer Clavey and Mrs. Clarence Anderson as hostessâ€" es. The party today concludes the fourth summer of such parties. ‘Tea Room Parties The last of the tea room jaunts of the Contract Bridge club:is being held this afternoon at the Indian Mrs, B. L. Davis has sold her studio home on Saunders road to Mr. Callmer, an officer in the Deerâ€" field Wountry club, which adjoins the property. The unusual home was made from a huge barn on the farm of the pioneer families, the Otts and Rockenbachs. The late Mr. Davis and his wife were both artists and had the building remodâ€" eled for a summer studio. The past season it has been called The Wilâ€" low Tree Barn Tea Room and was managed by Helga Rosing. Mrs. Davis has gone to Grand Rapids, Mich., to live with a brother. It is reported that the same man has purchased the house just south of the Davis home, also. Miss Rosing was proprietress of Three Acres Tea Room in that location last year. Mural John Stephan of Oak Park, a W. P.A. artist, is making a mural on the brick wall above the stage in the Deerfield Grammar school audiâ€" torium. The mural is made of small pieces of colored glass. â€" Mrs. William F. Plagge and famâ€" ily and Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Jacobson and children visited at the Newton Plagge and Walter Cannon homes in Barrington last Sunday. Robert Stahl of Prairie View, who has been employed at the R. A. Nelson Grocery store for the past several years, has resigned and his place has been taken by William Kent, Jr. Mr. Stahl, in company with his cousins, Howard, Lyle, May and Lillian Ritzenthaler, also of Prairie View, went to Canâ€" ada last week on a vacation trip. Christenâ€" sen and son, Leslie, of Sunset court, and Miss Evelyn Sturm of Prairie View, went to Lake Wautoma, Wis., last week and from there will go to Towa to visit relatives.
