OPEN HOUSE FOR FACULTY MEMBERS For years she was a generous patron and constant attendant of winter opera in Chicago and the open air performance at Ravinia. The Hard of Hearing League numâ€" bered her among its active and enâ€" thusiastic members and a lipreadâ€" ing class has often held regular meetings at her home. Coolidge will be the open house, which Miss Alice Coolâ€" idge is holding in honor of her mothâ€" er‘s 90th birthday anniversary. The affair is to be held at the family residence 1630 Dean avenue, and nearly one hundred invitations have been issued to it. An open house is being held by the faculties of the Highland Park and Lake Forest high schools Thursday evening, January 13, from 7:30 to 10:30, in the English elub room of the Highland Park high school. Mrs. Coolidge is noted for her strength of character and the reâ€" sources of heart in withstanding the shocks which life has brought her in the loss of her only son, William, and Mr. Coolidge, both of whom died suddenly, and in the reâ€" cent loss of her devoted daughter, Elizabeth Coolidge. Her hospitable home, set in handâ€" some evergreens, has always welâ€" comed those who eagerly came to enjoy the gentle graciousness of their hostess, Mrs. Coolidge.â€"Conâ€" tributed. Moraine Hotel Employee Passes On William Mellwain, husband of the late Mary Mcllwain, and a resiâ€" dent of Highland Park for 42 years, died January 6, after a brief illness. Mr. Mellwain was born in Ballyâ€" lisbraiden, union of Newtownards County Down, Ireland, on March 14, 1868. Surviving him are his son Walâ€" lace and grandâ€"daughter Lynn of Evanston, and Mrs. J. L.
