PAGE TEN 80TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. George Karch, who was 80 years old on Sunday, celebrated the event with a dinner party the preâ€" vious day at his home on Deerfleld road. Guests at the dinner party were George Antes, Jacob Ott, Edâ€" win Meyers, and Elmerâ€"Pettis, who have been meeting to play cards and while away the hours, about once a week, for the past five or six winâ€" ters. It was the first time they had been together for several months, as the host, Mr. Karch had been ill. Mr. Karch was born in Portage, Wis., February 27, 1858. Me was employed for 47 years by the C. M. & St. Paul RR., and retired from his engineering position fifâ€" teen years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Karch and theier six children moved to Deerfleld 30 years ago. Mrs. Karch passed away in 1918 while the only son, George, was over seas with the American army. He returned from France uninjured, but in 1925 was taken in death folâ€" lowing +an appendectomy. _ Last year the eldest daughter, Mary, passed away. Living with Mr. Karch in his Deerfield home are his three daughters, Mrs. Paul M. Dietz (Laura), and the Misses Jane and Martha Karch. His other daughter, Mrs. Frank Saeman (Kitty) lives in Cross Plains, Wis., with her husband and four children.
