Deerfleld School Roard Approves Board of Education ‘ The regular meeting of the board of directors, Illinois School District No. 109, was held at the Deerfield Grammar school Monday, March 7th at 8 pm. _ Carbie The following resolution . was moved by Mr. Boyle seconded by Mr. Hout and passed by a unanimâ€" ous vote; & THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 1938 a population g se exceding 100 inhabiâ€" Resolution providing for the elecâ€" tion of a Board of Education Whereas, it has been determined by a special census that School Disâ€" trict 109, Lake County, Tllinois has Whereas, Section 123 of the School Law makes provision that, when it is determined by any speâ€" cial or general census that a disâ€" trict bas more than 1000 inhabiâ€" tants, it shall be governed by a Board of Education consisting of six members and a president, _ ‘Therefore, be it resolved, that District 109 shall hereafter be govâ€" erned by a Board of Education conâ€" sisting of six members and a presiâ€" dent, and uts â€" Be it further resolved, that the secretary of the present Board of Directors, give notice to the public of an election to be held on the secâ€" ond Saturday of April, 1938, proâ€" viding for the election of a Board of Education consisting of six memâ€" bers and a president, and Be it further resolved, that the secretary of the Board of Directors give at least ten days notice to the public that District 109 will henceâ€" forth be governed by a Board of Education. _ In order to clear up a misconcepâ€" tion, it was brought out at the meetâ€" ing ‘that Mr. â€" Meyers has never made any motion for considering, or any suggestion of a Board of Education (at any school board meeting during his term of office. This means that the terms of all present members of the Board of Directors will expire automatically, and that an entire new board will be elected. . Petitions for candidacy must be filed on or before March 19, 1938 with the clerk. Mr. Hout and Mr. Boyle have deâ€" cided not to be candidates for the new board; Mr. Meyer stated that he will run again. It was also ascertained that there was no meeting called for Monday, Feb. 28.
