Pledges selected on the basis of scholastic achievement and outâ€" standing ability to write, were preâ€" sented Feb, 15 at the amnual Matâ€" rix banquet for Northwestern womâ€" en who have attained prominence. Miss Bartlett attended Highland Park High school, where she was editor of the school paper, a memâ€" ber of the annual board, and secreâ€" tar yof Pot Pourri, literary society. At Northwestern she is a member of the French club, Craig club and GRACE GATEWOOD RATES HIGH AVERAGE The high scholastic average of 4.60 was made in the University of Illinois School of Journalism last semester by Grace M. Gatewood of 286 Laurel, Highland Park, it was announced here today. In the Illiâ€" nois grading system, 5 equals "A", 4 equals "B", etc. Two years of university work are required for admission into the School of Journalism, which now has 179 students. ~ Instruction in journalism was started at the University of Illinois in 1902, and organized into a sepaâ€" rate school in 1927.
