NANCY McePHERSON HISE MARRIED MONDAY A Mrs. Arthur Grant McPherson announces the marriage of her daughter, Nancy McPherson Hise, to Mr. William Raymond Grant of Lake Shore drive, Chicago, which took place in Wilmette, last Monâ€" day, May 23. The groom‘s brother and sister, Mr. Victor Grant of Chicago, and Mrs. Henry DeFord of Evanston were the only attendâ€" ants. _A wedding breakfast was held at the Orrington Hotel for only the immediate relatives and friends. After a month‘s honeymoon the newlyweds will live in Highland Park. Both Miss Bullard and Mr. Holmes, whose mothers have known each other since childhood, grew up in Highland Park. She attended the Roycemore School, the Santa Barâ€" bara School for Girls and then went East for a year at Sarah Lawrence. Since her parents settled permaâ€" nently in California she has been active in the Santa Barbara Junior League and the Spinsters Club. Both of Miss Bullard‘s sisters are married. Barbara Bullard now is Mrs. Charles A. Storke II and Carol became the bride of Richard Hubâ€" bard Howland six‘ months ago in the Highland Park Trinity Epistoâ€" pal church. The Howlands have been living in Athens, Greece, where Mr. Howland is a fellow of the Agora Excavations, since their ‘marâ€" riage. Since both Miss Bullard and her fiance were in their wedding party the Howlands hope to be back in the United States to attend this year‘s ceremony. They plan to come in late fall or winter. Ever since they moved to Caliâ€" fornia three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Sellar Bullard have maintainâ€" ed a strong link with Highland Park, their former home. In Noâ€" vember they took a house in, Highâ€" land Park so their first daughter, Carol, could be feted and married in the town in which sheâ€"was born. Now there is to be an even stronger tie. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bullard announced the engagement of their youngest daughter, Clara Jean, to John Russell Holmes, the son of their longâ€"time friends, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel S. Holmes of N. Sherâ€" idan road. The announcement was made at a tea in the Bullards‘ Santa Barâ€" bara home, Far Horizons. Young Mr. Holmes was present at the party, for he now is in business in Santa Barbara, and the young couâ€" ple will live there after their marâ€" riage. BULLARDâ€"HOLMES‘ ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED One of six children, Mr. Holmes prepared for college at the Lake Forest Academy and then attended the University of Michigan.
