Many Festivities Mark Closing of Dist. 108 Schools A Field Day program was enâ€" joyed Friday, June 8, by the parâ€" cuund‘tl:dllr.dtbl;’vi:hh school. opening parade children of the school and a conâ€" cert by the district band of the school lent color and interest to the day. ‘The picnic supper followed by a fatherâ€"son ball game concluded a very happy day for all. Monday, the sixth of June, a simâ€" ilar Fieldâ€" Day was held at the Braeside school but with certain handicaps /due to rainy weather and the unfinished condition of the grounds. A cafeteria supper was served in the new auditorium. The Lincoln Field Day will be held on the park grounds across from the school on Monday, June 18. A program of relays and ball games and a picnic supper with the parents is being planned. The graduating class at the Linâ€" coln school is presenting Shakesâ€" peare‘s "As You Like It", in the Lincoln school auditorium on Friâ€" day night, June 10, at 8:15. A small admission charge is being made and the proceeds will be used to buy a gift for the school, presented "Midsummer Night‘s Dream" on Wednesday evening, June 8, in the new! Braeside audiâ€" torium. The new addition to the schools in District 108 are all finished and are in use with the exception of the Lincoln school. _ However, these rooms are rapidly being finished and will be occupied when school opens in September. One of the features of the Ridge Field Day will be a Flag Day proâ€" gram by the Cub Scouts under the direction of Mr. Sternig. Track events, ball games andia picnic lunch will be other features of the day. Children‘s Day at Bethany, Sunday The annual Childrens Day program of the Bethany Evangelical Sunâ€" day school will be presented next Sunday morning in the auditorium at Bethany, at 10:30 a.m. This service will take the place of the regular Sunday school and Sunday morning service. A pageant entiâ€" tled "Of Such Is the Kingdom," written by Dorothy Lehman Sumâ€" erau, will be presented by the chilâ€" dren and a number of young people.
