P. 674 Safety Measures Instituted Backed By Local Committee The Highland Park Citizens Saâ€" fety Committee announces that they will have a meeting of all the repâ€" resentatives on Tuesday evening, June 14, at the Public Library. During the past two weeks, a number of developments have taken place in Highland Park which will tend to make motoring more safe. Throughout the community where the roadways have worn away from the catch basin, there has been the problem of these _ obstructions standing out in the street. A numâ€" ber of citizens have complained about them and some have even sufâ€" fered damage to their tires. These catch basins have been painted by the city which enables the motorists to see them more clearly. In some of the older sections of the city the old fashioned horse block h'{dl‘ taken down and new ones built. These horse blocks were built many years ago and the erosion of the soil has caused the street to work back and leave ‘the horse block alâ€" most standing out in the street. The Highland Park Citizens Saâ€" fety Committee has recommended to the city the purchase of additional traffic signs. Traffic signs are needâ€" ed on Green Bay road opposite the Northmoor Country Club and also on the narrow section where the street is slippery during wet weaâ€" ther. The Highland Park Citizens Safety Committee heartily approves of the suggestion of enlarging our police force. For many months we have realized that Highland Park needs to do this.
