"Town Meeting" Oct. 5 To Discuss Park District In Deerfield ‘The Deerfeld Chamber of Comâ€" merce Park District committee anâ€" nounces that there is to be a good old faghioned "Town Meeting" at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5. By courtesy of the school trustees, it will be held in the School auditorâ€" ium on Deerfield road and the purâ€" pose is to give every voter resident in the proposed park district an opportunity to express his or her opinion or to obtain information upon which to base an opinion. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1088 Robert Kingery, general manager of the Chicago Regional Planning association, will be the chief speaker and all those who had the pleasure o# hearing him when he came to Deerfiald last year, can vouch for the presentation of valuable facts and figures in an interesting and entertaining manner, _ Amos H. Watts; president of the Glencoe Park Board, will also be present, and his high standing in the field of municipal law lends auâ€" thority to his answers to any quesâ€" tions as to the legal phases of the operation of a park district and the levying of taxes therefore. He will bring with him Mr. Robert Everly superintendent of the Glencoe parks, and Mr. Everly can and will give facts and figures regarding activiâ€" ties in parks, their benefit to young people and the cost thereof. It must however be borne in mind that Glencoe‘s populationâ€"is all of three times that of Deerfleld, so that the cost question will be illustrative rather than typical. Every voter resident in the terâ€" ritory in West Deerfield Township west of the West Skokie Drainage Ditch and south of the Lake Forest Park District is urged to be present and in particularly requested to exâ€" press opinions or ask questions. The Lake Forest district runs as far south as the center line of sections 17 and 18. Parents are urged to bring chilâ€" dren of 7th grade standing or upâ€" wards. If the time can be spared from homework, it should be a valâ€" uable educational experience to atâ€" tend a public discussion of a matâ€" ter of civic interest and the young people have a vital concern in the development of their home comâ€" munity. _ Wednesday, October 5.
