H.P.H.S. Basketball Schedule Released Beginning his second year as head basketball coach at the Highâ€" land Park high school, Chas. "Chuck" Lauer has announced a 1988â€"1989 basketball schedule inâ€" eluding eight home games. Each game will be a double leader, with Al Werbelow in charge of the Freshâ€" soph squad. ‘The Ela game originally schedâ€" uled for Lake Zurich may be played at Highland Park if their gym floor is not ready by Nov. 23. ‘The complete schedule follows: J. Lipp Paper company team proved to be of championship maâ€" terial last Tuesday evening by takâ€" ing 3 straight games from Frank Waber‘s Eagles, bowling under the colors of the Gebhardt Chili Powder company of San Antonio, Texas. The Rugen family of Glenview, with Captain Uncle Charlie directâ€" ing the Bremner Bros. team, set the Black Shirts from Italy down for 3 games in a row; how it happened no one knows, but Johnny Lester, Capâ€" tain of Nottoli Bros, Produce team, could not, keep his team out of the gutter and so Nottoli‘s Black Shirts are back in second place after a brief stay as the top leaders of the league, Old Monkes Picked as Dark Horse With Captain Phil Sturlini of the Old Monk team setting the example for his team mates with games of 200 and 212 respectfully, many of the dopesters are favoring the Old Monk team to be one of the strong contenders for the championship next spring. Clarence Bach, who bowled with last year‘s champions, has not as yet hit his fast rolling stride, and when he doesâ€"watch out â€"as the Old Monks will have a power machine in motion. 8 Bremmer Bros. ..._..._i..L..__. 9 _ 12 1 Hfdm Beverage ...................... 10 11 9.
