Only 17 Votes Cast In District 108 Election Saturday AFTER EASTERâ€"WHAT?! "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations" Matt. 28:19, Read Acts 1:1â€"8. Last Sunday all of our churches were filled to overflowing, in some hmnmwpl{wmthmbmmr&omummhhn, bumw that Easter is over what will happen in the weeks and months that are before us ? n.nmnuurwummmmmmmmum Christian movement. Thwiloloud-ygthuwc w the experâ€" fences of Lent to reach a great elimax on and then end in the celebration. Too often our efforts of Lent are followed by a slackening of effort and by a toning down of our enthusiasm, _ _ He is survived by his wife, Adele B., three daughters, Elaine, Lucile and Catherine, his mother, Mrs. Lilâ€" lie M. Marks, and a sister, Mrs, Sidâ€" ney Bernstein. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10:80 at Rosehill chapel. This was not so in the beginning. According to the New Testament more things happened after Easter than before. The value and sigâ€" nificance of Easter lies chiefly in the experiences and achievements that follow. The ml; Church marched heroically from the triumph of Easter to the power of Penticost. The First Easter marked the beginning of a new advance. To our Lo«l"l'&eiplu it meant new devotion, loyalty and eomcn&n. It meant a geal, a new passion and a new entusiasm. Before resurrection the disciples hoped to redeem Isrsel, but after it, they had a passion to redeem the world. Surely the Church of today dare not let down, we must go forward to win, to teach and remake this world for God. May the mesage and the challenge of Easter not be the end but the beginning of a new devotion to Christ and His kingdom. f Harold M. Marks Is Buried Friday Only 17 votes were cast in School District 108, comprising Lincoin, Ravinia, Braeside and West Ridge schools. Mr. Robert L. "ELECT THE MAN WITH A PLAN" WHO IS MY OPPONENT FOR MAYOR? Who is My Opponent? Who is My Opponent? Who is My Opponent? I have awaited in vain for the announcement of a platform by my opponent for Mayor. Instead, a candidate for commissioner announced a platform committing the next city council of Highland Park to do things legally impossible and to spend funds far in excess of our city‘s ability to payâ€"! done to promote them during the past four years of his administrationâ€"! Who is My Opponent? Who is My Opponent? Who is My Opponent? Who is My Opponent? I would like to know if my t advocates the hasty proposals sudâ€" demy made 12 dayy before shection? _And if the sloes, why Nothing was ‘The only statement made in behalf of my opponent is one claiming ‘conâ€" servatism" yet the candidate commissioner‘s platform contradicts every principle of conservatism. My opponent‘s statement fails to reveal anything accomplished during the past four years except payments on bonds, neglecting to mention that the only alternative would have been bankruptcy and the loss of our city‘s credit. The candidate commissioner advocates doing things such as "exâ€" tensive renovation and enlargement of the present sewer system," that can only be financed through huge new bond issues. I also believe in "conservatism," but I do not believe that conservatism means a "do nothing policy." This is economy without a plan, purpose or objective. How is it possible to reconcile my opponent‘s claim of "conâ€" servatism" with the candidate commissioner‘s program of spending? What is the official platform or program of my opponent? Is it the brief statement issued in his behalf and no more? Or is it the soâ€"called platform 1ssued by the candidate commissioner who asks the support of men who will see that it is carried "swiftly to completion ?" ‘Three of us seem to apeak as candidate for the offite of or of Highland Park.
