THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1989 Annual Xmas Bonus and Korno Party Caffery, Commander of the Duâ€" maresq Spencor post announces that plans have been completed to hold the annual American Legion Big Korno and Christmas Bonus party, Friday evening, Dec. 15th, at Labor and many attracions have made this an outâ€"standing north shore event and this year according to Comâ€" mander McCaffery there will not only be many new and added femâ€" tures but accomodations and faciliâ€" ties will be increased to entertain over 700 guests. In addition to the Big Korno game and several contests for which there will be beautiful Christmas baskets and other valuable prizes there will be dancing to a popular band engaged for the evening, enâ€" tertainment, many fine door prizes refreshments and more than $100 in cash will be given away by Santa Claus who will attend in person and make the Christmas Bonus awards. John Peters is general chairman and his committee includes, vice commanders, Ed. Eitel, Wm. Logan, Bob Fiala, Adjut., Dewitt Manassee and Matt Maiman. _ Prominent members of the post on the honorary committee for this event are Major Frank Ronan, Mayor of Highland Park, Gen. Robt. E. Wood, Gen. Karl Truesdale, Commander of Ft. Sheridan â€" and â€" Miller Schreiner, Commander of the Tenth District of the American Legion. He likewise adds that as the proceeds of this party are for the benefit of the Legion‘s fund for Americanism, Child Welfare and Christmas donations to the needy its support will be in a most worthy cause.
