That Christmas Eve, be made America‘s "Night of Light," is beâ€" ing urged by Bernarr Macfadden, noted New York publisher, _ Last Sunday morning Dr. Lewis W. Sherwin, pastor of the Highland Park Presbyterian church, asked the members of his congregation to join Mr. Macfadden in his campaign to have every window bright with light this Christmas Eve, Ameriâ€" ca‘s "Night of Light." The following telegram has been sent to prominent men, leaders in various walks of life, organizations and religious bodies: "As America‘s answer to the Blackâ€"Out threatening the world â€" A Blackâ€"Out of freedom as well as lightâ€"wil you proclaim Christmas Eve a "night of light," calling on citizens to keep every room of every home and building fully lighted with blinds wide open, from dusk to midâ€" night? As an American citizen I am sending this suggestion to every governor and to the mayor of every large city. I believe that citizens will spontaneously respond, and that America‘s "Night of Light" will be bigger, more significant news in nations where news can still be circulated than any blackâ€"out has been," Bernarr MacFadden.
