PAGE TWO Albert Starr, for the past 16 years a resident of Highwood, passed away Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edith Ayers, with whom he had resided. Mr. Starr was born in Davis counâ€" ty, Ia., Nov. 4, 1858, and was 81 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Starr gained his early trainâ€" ing and grew to young manhood in his home community. As a young man he went to Centerville, la. From there he moved to Davenport, where he spent the larger part of his life. Sixteen years ago he came to Highwood and made his home with his daughter. While in this vicinity he gained employment with the North Shore Line, retiring from active service in 1930. Albert Starr Dies Mr. Starr was married to Miss Lucinda Johnson in 1885. She preâ€" ceded her husband in death on Christmas day in the year 1906. There were nine children born to this union of whom three have passâ€" ed away. The six children survivâ€" ing their father are: Mable Greb, Otis Starr, Mrs. Edith Ayers, Mrs. Gladys Meumann, Mrs. Helen Ikerâ€" man and Ralph Starr. He is also survived by one brother,, Johnson Starr, of Monterey, la. Friday; is Buried New Year‘s Day Funeral services were held on New Year‘s day at Kelley‘s chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. F. Snite‘s Father Passes on Funeral services will be held Sunâ€" day afternoon at 3 o‘clock in the Episcopal church in Plattsburg. Mr. Pierce was congressman in the 31st congressional district. A member of the judiciary committee and an important member of the New York State Republican Execuâ€" tive committee, being a close perâ€" sonal friend of the presidential nomâ€" inee, Thomas E. Dewey. Mrs. Pierce passed on three years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Betty, and a baby granddaughter, Elizabeth Osborn Snite. Police Pistol Highland Park‘s police pistol team defeated the Lake Forest gendarmes by 60 points in a match Friday night on the winner‘s range in the city hall. Mrs. Mary Farmer, a resident of Wheeling for the past forty years, passed away Monday at her home. Funeral services were held yesterâ€" day (Wednesday) afternoon at the Washburn Congregational church in Half Day at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in Wheeling cemeteryv. Mrs. Farmer was born in Gerâ€" many, April 1, 1873, and came to this country when 18 years of age. Her husband, Armand, passed away several years ago and a son, John, died just two months ago. Those who survive Mrs. Farmer are six sons, â€" William, Edward, Charles, Fred, Albert and Harry, and seven daughters, Mrs. Amanda Strube, Mrs. Anna Luther, Mrs. Lillian Seiâ€" ler, Mrs. Mary Veech, Mrs. Ella Hoebelein, Mrs. Mildred Gieske, and Miss Gladys Farmer.
