It was a very impressive ceremony, as it was the first real community â€" Christmas gathering held in Highland Park for many years. â€" : | Choirs from the Highland Park Presbyterian, Trinity Episcopal and Bethany churches choral societies, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, marchâ€" ed from four directions to the Christmas tree, singing carols. Asâ€"this was a practically new ventureâ€" for Highland Park those in charge are to be complimented upon its suceess. Although the afâ€" fair lacked coordination to some degree, it was very well done and a credit to Highland Park. § ‘ . _The big Christmas party which is iz:en â€"each year by the American gion and Community Chest, was Monday afternoon in Community Center. The afternoon‘s program began with a turkey dinner, followâ€" ed by a program of sound movies, carol singing and a brief talk by Rev. Suhr, pastor of Zion Lutheran church. The 90 children present each received gifts, candy and fruit.
