Area Boy Scouts Thursday, February 27, 1941 Noarth Shore Congregational Israel in Glencoe last Monday night, Kenâ€" neth L Fox was reâ€"elected president for another year. This mecting was attended by approximately 500 men and women who are workers . in Scouting, Cubbing and Sea Scouting in the North Shore Area Council. The highest awards to volunteer Scouters for distinguished service to Boyhood within a local ‘council, namely, the Silvg\ Beaver, were presented by Mr. Henry Fowler, the Area Commissioner, on behalf of the North Shore Area Council to Robert F. Doepel of Winnetka and Medill Radloff of Libertyville. The address of the evening was given by Dr. Preston Bradley, pasâ€" tor of the Peoples Church of Chiâ€" cago. A very impressive feature of the â€" program â€"was â€"theâ€" â€"memorial service paying tribute to the founder of the Scout movement, Lord Robert Baden Powell, the Chief Scout of the World, who passed away Jan. 8, 1941. The tribute was made by Wm. E. Webster of Libertyville. The following is Mr. Webster‘s tribâ€" ute: ce o * & "On February 22, 1857, a spirit was born that was later to be known as Lord Baden Powell. "History does not reveal any othâ€" er person, who during his lige time was able to project his philosophy of life into millions upon millions of boys in practically every nation in the world. The annual report was presented by Clifton G. Speer, the Scout <Exâ€" ecutive for the North Shore Area Council. The N.S.A.C. has grown every year since its inception from a membership.of 311 boys to a total membership â€"of 4036, This is one of the finest records made by any Council in the country.
