This exhibit was collected from the articles so produced and is beâ€" ing loaned all over the country to stimulate interest in creative design and craftsmanship and a better apâ€" preciation for well designed artiâ€" cles. Mrs. Clarence J. Bassler, chairman of the Art department of the club, personally went to Milâ€" waukee to secure this outstanding exhibit for the club to enjoy. Included in the exhibit are black and screen printed textiles, upholâ€" stery fabrics, hooked rugs, handâ€" woven <textiles,: table linens, toys, games, dolls, furniture and pictures. Some of the books for children which are especially bound include songs, the words and . music of which are ‘written by first grade children. The printed textiles are extremely interésting from the standpoint of original designs of bold, striking figures executed in Rummage Sale March 20 The annual rummage sale of the Helen Taylor Carr Auxiliary of the Cheago Commons will be held on Thursday, March 20, at 1543 S. St. Johns avenue, from 8:30 a.m. until 5. p.m. standpoint of original bold, striking figures South American colors. Milwaukee WPA Handicraft Display At Woman‘s Club The Art exhibit for this month at the Highland Park Woman‘s club is a handicraft display from the Milwaukee W.P.A, handicraft proâ€" ject. This project produces originâ€" ally designed craft articles for use only in taxâ€"supported institutions. Eightyâ€"five percent of the articles are distributed to schools for disâ€" play to the art classes. A group of unemployed young de. signers with previous art training create the designs for all of the articles produced while some 300â€" 3,000 unemployed workers who have had no previous art training execute the designs.
