Each year one of the spring meetings of the Highland Park branch is held with Miss Vitâ€" tum who is the director of Northâ€" western University. Settlement and members take a tour through the very interesting departments and obâ€" serve‘ the wonderful work which is done. The Ravinia Woman‘s Club will meet on April 9th at two o‘clock at the Ravinia Village House. Ravinia Women To Hear Clark Kuebler is running without opposition to sucâ€" ceed himself. Three men are running for members of ‘the Board, Jesse Halsted running to succeed himself and the names of Maurice Poliak and Mortimer Singer are new to the public in this capacity. Absentee ballots must be secured before April 7th, School Board election for District 108, will be held on Saturday, April 12th at both Lincoln and Ravinia schools, the polisâ€"being open from 12 noon to 7 p.m. , School District 108 Announces Absentee Ballots Available Sparks from the Chimney ignited the shingles on the roof at 9 Mcâ€" Goven street, occupied by the Arthur Johnsons on Tuesday the 25th. The two story brick residence is owned by Nicholas Lamb. There was a $10 damage to the roof. The damper closed in the smoke pipe at the E. V. Metzel home, 95 Sycamore place on the 24th,. No damâ€" The Highland Radio Service Store, §41 Central Avenue, had a radio transformer shorted, which resulted in a $5 damage. Their fire was on Wednesday the 19th. very little damage was done. They made a call on Tuesday the 18th to the two story residence of H. R. Holmgren, 1014 South Linden. They found a defective oil burner, which caused about a $25 damage to the house and about $75 to the conâ€" tents. The Highland Park Fire Departâ€" ment was called from its nice, new, warm station to make several calls during the past week. None of the fhires were of a serious nature and very little damage was done. Completion of the rehabilitation is scheduled for May 15th. 8 Moraine Hotel Sold; Extensive Remodeling To Be Operated Year ‘Round as "Moraineâ€"onâ€"theâ€"Lake" The Moraine Hotel, fashionable North Shore resort has been sold by the Chicago Title & Trust Company, Trustee, to a new hotel company known as the Moraine Park Comâ€" pany for an undisclosed consideraâ€" tion. The sale includes all of the present buildings and the 14 acres of land, a large part of which is comâ€" prised of wooded ravines and formal gardens, with 500 feet of private beach on Lake Michigan.
