The Lessonâ€"Sermon also in eluded the following passages from the Christian Science textbhook "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." by Mary Baker Eddy: "Immortal man sas and is God‘s imâ€" age or Idea. even the infinite expresâ€" sgion of Intfinite Mind and immortal man is coexistent and coeternal with that Mind. He has been forever in the eternal Mind, God ; but infinite Mind can never be in man. but is reflected by man. The spiritual man‘s consclousness and individuality are reflections of God They are the ema nations of Him who is Life, Truth and Love. Immortal man is not and never was material, but always spir Itual and eternal" (p. 336) Among thr citations which comâ€" prised the Lessonâ€"Sermon was the following from the RBible: "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God : And if children. then heirs; heirs of God, and jJointâ€"beirs with Christ" (Româ€" ans 8:14. 16. 17) "Mortals and Immortals" was the subject of the Lessonâ€"Nermon in all Churches of Christ. She writes easily and skillfully, and, she presents some vivid pictures that cut into the mind. This is not easily to achieve. Therefore, Miss McKenney should be praised for her rather rare abilâ€" ity. The book will make you smile. You might even give a hearty laugh. I hope so. There is always room for humor. Let‘s always hope there is. Read My Sister Eileen. You‘ll like it! ‘Wow H. P. MUSIC CLUB TO MEET WEDNESDAY Ruth is the more likable of the two sisters. She is more human. Inâ€" deed, she is even refreshing. And, I like the author‘s modesty in deâ€" picting herself. However, both of the sisters are unforgettable. The experiences that they have are highly realistic: we. have all been guilty of doing things that our parâ€" ‘ents wish us not to do. Ruth and Eileen are the kind that thrive on ‘"naughty things." The book, then, does nothing more than take these two sisters from childhood to young ladyhood. Of course, the most interesting parts of their lives have doubtlessly been excluded. Just as wellâ€"mayâ€" be. Some parts of the book are more interesting than others. But, isn‘t this usually the case? But what‘s the story about? It is about two sisters, Ruth and Eileen, with the decided emphasis on Ruth. That is why it is difficult to underâ€" stand the title, My Sister Eileen. It seems that if one wished to be accuâ€" rate, one would call the book, ME and My Sister by Ruth McKenney. Miss Loveman, in The Saturday Review of Literature, claimed that there is a laugh on every page of My Sister Eileen. I disagree: not every page. But, about every twenâ€" ty pages, there is a laugh. That makes about eleven laughs in all. I can‘t say that I found them belly laughsâ€"but I must admit that the humorous incidents did kind. of tickle the funny bone a little. My Sister Eileen, by Ruth McKenâ€" ney. The book, 226 pages. Reviewed by Whitt N. Schultz This is notâ€"the play. This is the bookâ€"the book from which the play was adapted. And, frankly, I don‘t ese how they ever took the play from the book! True, they might have gotten a subtle hint from the book. But, what a vague hint that BEST SELLERS Mrs. McDaniel MAY 22, 1941 ,l;ovello .Rogers Kjerulf Charles
