James Collins, Local James Collins, proprietor of the James Collins Auto Paint shop, 516 Laurel avenue, died at noon Tuesâ€" day at his home, 436 Lincoln place, following a year and a half of ill health. He was born in Perth, Ontario, Canada, 51 years ago, and came to Highland Park 22 years ago, and engaged in the auto painting busiâ€" ness. A quiet unassuming _ nature, "Jim" as he was familiarly known among his close friends and busiâ€" ness asosciates, was respected and admired by all. His patience and endurance, even during his very grave illness was evidenced to the end. Jim, past exaulted ruler of Highâ€" land Park Elks lodge, served as its secretary for the past twelve years. He was also a member of the Royal Arcanum, A. O. Fay lodge No. 676 A. F. and A. M. and Highland Park chapter No. 226 R. Funeral services will be held at the Kelley chapel on N. Sheridan road at two o‘clock this afternoon (Thursday). Rev. Christoph Keller, rector of Trinity church, will ofâ€" ficiate. Burial will be in Green Ridge cemetery, Kenosha. The injured were Pyt. Edward Barnes, concussion and skull fracâ€" ture; Sergt. Gordon Scott, cuts and bruises and a possible broken back; Sergt. Norbert Bonner and Pvt. Paul Austin, minor injuries. Bonâ€" ner and Austin were released from St. Mary‘s hospital, Racine, but the other two are still in a serious conâ€" dition. Surviving Mr. Collins are his wife, Elsie; an invalid mother Mrs. Mary Collins, and a brother Fred of Keâ€" nosha, Wis., a sister, Mrs. George Drydale also of Kenosha, two brothâ€" ers, Dr. Alec Collins and William Collins of Grayslake and a half brother, Tom Stacey of Conn. Miss Adele Everett Miss Everett, a resident of Highâ€" land Park for about 70 years, was a leader in the community‘s culturâ€" al, social and welfare activities. She was the daughter of F. D. Everett, a pioneer of this section. She left a sister, Mrs. A. Lawrence Mills of this city and a brother, Charles, Redlands, California. Miss Adele Everett, 76 of 360 Park avenue, one of Highland Park‘s most beloved citizens died at her home Friday morning. She had been in ill health for the past six months. ~ Funeral services were held at 2 o‘clock Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church. Dr. Sherwin officiated. B. Gwyn and Mrs. C. E. Timson of Bannockburn and Deerfield. The money is being sent to the Chicago headquarters of the British War Relief society. Both units are making comfort bags for the women of the bombed areas of Britain.
