Word was received last week from Tampa, Florida, of the death of Miss Alice Davidson, daughter of the late Colonel Harlan P. and Mrs. Adelaide Davidson, founders of the Northwestern Military Academy, and sister of the late Colonel Royal Davidson, who earried on his father‘s school a few years ago. The Davidson family came to Highland Park in 1888, where the Military Academy was established on the corner of Ravine drive and St. Johns avenue. After it was demolished by fire in 1915, it was not rebuilt, but moved to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where it has been known as the North Western Military and Naval Academy. Many old _timers of Highland Park well remember this fine Christian family whose "boys" marched to the Highland Park Presbyterian church every Sunday morning for worship with the conâ€" gregation. Johnson Alice S. Davidson was 81 years of age last August. She had made her ome for many years in Avon Park, Florida. Burial was made in the family lot in New Haven, Connecticut. Last rites were conducted toâ€" day (Thursday) at the Kelley & Spalding chapel, for C. Alfred Johnson, 1757 So. Green Bay road, who passed away last Monâ€" day at the Highland Park hospital at the age of 78, after a long illâ€" Born in Sweden, he came to this country in 1888, and lived for a time in Chicago. He had been a resident of Highland Park for 25 years, and was affiliated with the John Ericcson lodge, No. 361, IOOF, and the carpenters‘ union, Surviving are his widow, Selma; a daughter, Vernon, of Highland local 141. A shocking accident occurred early this morning (Thursday) 'hehp-year'old J. Twain Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver S. Turner, 289 Park avenue, met his death in an automobile accident. With him were four young friends, one of whom, a Mr. Coulter of Glenview, was also killed. The accident occurred on Green Bay road, north of Lake Forest, when the car missed a turn and crashed into a tree. Young Turner, a freshman at Kenyon college, Ohio, was one of the students who escaped death during the burning of the dormiâ€" tory building in which his fraâ€" ternity was housed.
