Reception Honors Anniversary â€" A reception honoring the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Lawrentz was held on Sunday,. May 27, from four to nine at the home of their son and daughterâ€"inâ€"law, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lawrentz, 1412 Lincoln place. About 120 guests were presâ€" ent. Among those from out of town was another son, George, with Mrs. Lawrentz and their two children, John and Karen, of Long Beach, Calif., who are visiting friends artd relatives in this vicinâ€" ity. . Mrs. and Mrs. Otto Lawrentz were married in Gilmer, IIl., on May 29, 1901. The following day they moved into their present home at 113 North Green Bay road, which was built by his fathâ€" er. Three children were born to the union, Marvin, George and Dorothy (Weiss), the latter of whom was taken by death in 1949, at Arlington Heights, III. Mr. Lawrentz is a charter memâ€" ber of the Redeemer Lutheran church, and Mrs. Lawrentz is a charter member of the church Guild. For 25 years Mr. Lawrentz was employed by Brand Brothers, painters, and for 31 years served as painter foreman for the North Shore line. Retired three years ago, he is now pleasantly employâ€" ed with his hobby, gardening. Marlyn and Randall, children of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lawrentz, are the fourth generation of the family to live in Highland Park.
