Charles Vycital who was either lost, strayed, stolen or--sick for the past two weeks, has returned to school. The teachers certainly did brighten up on his appearance in the various class rooms. PASTORS RECEIVE NEW APPOINTMENTS At the closing session of the Rock River conference of the Methodist Episcopal church at Freeport Monday many changes in the appointments of pastors for the coming year were made. Among the changes of local interest are: * Rev. J. B. Martin, pastor of the First M. E. church at Elgin, has been appointed, superintendent of the Chicago Western district. Rev. Gilbert Stansell, formerly of Wilmette, will be pastor at Elgin. Rev. J. M. Schneider of Woodstock will go to Albany Park and G. T. Nesmith will take his place at Woodstock. Two tables of bunco were played with high honors going to Mrs. Mat Laures, while Mrs. Frank Thurwell won second prize. Mrs. Mayme Harrison received the consolation prize. Dainty refreshments were served at the close of the evening. The next meeting will be with Mrs. F.
