Ad ay or two ago a citizen living on the silver road called at the Post Office to mail a package. He had four cents worth of stamps on it. but when weighed it was found to lack two cents. * „ 'Til hot pay it! Four cents is plen ty F' he blustered. UI know what it is worth to carry packages as well as the Government does!" "The postal law regulates these mat ters,*' observed the clerk. "Then I'll regulate the postal law I will!" The clerk was wondering how it could he done when the man continued: "Yousee this package?" "Yes sir.** "With four cents on it?" "Yes sir." "Well I'm going to mail it. If It reaches Chicago, all right. If it doesn 't I'll come around here and haul- you through that window and break fifty of your ribs and twist you twice around that door!" Applications for the position of stamp clerk should be sent in early.--Detroit jfree Press. fcaT-The baby was doubled up by the cramps and yelling at the rate of a mile a minute, as the father and moth er stood over the crib with the lauda num bottle between them. "No, Mari- ar," he said gently, but firmly, "you pour it out; that child's growing so much like your mother that I can't trust myself." A SUBE CUBE FOB DIABBH(EA. This is to certify that after coming home from California to my family in Chicago I was taken with a iliarrhcea. 1 tried everythingthat was recommen ded to me (but did me no good) for over five years, until I got two bottles of F. Marcus' Bitters which completely cured me. Bobert Forrest,Peter Blane and others can testify the above to be true and no humbug. I have proved It to be equally as good for billions com plaints. It strengthens and invigorates the whole system, carries off the bile, and gives warmth to the chilled veins of both old and young. It is the best bitters I ever used. •Joint PEHXAV SEX.
