J).. 1881: Your Committee on Finance to whom was referred the bonds of •Fames Nish as Treasurer and Collector of said Mcllenry County, and the bond of Peter Whitney as County Clerk of said County, would beg leave to submit the following report: That they have examined said bonds and find them to be in the usunl and proper form, and duly signed and ac­ knowledged. Your Committee are of the opinion that said bonds are good and ample security respectively for the purposes for which they were given, and recom­ mend that they be accepted and ap­ proved. Ilalderman, Treasurer of the Commissioners of Highways of the Town of Burton, came before the Board and stated that the cost o.' building the bridge for which aid was asked of this Board at itsJul}' meeting ($1,190.37). and that the tax levy of 62$ cents on every one hundred dollars ot valuation (being the rate of taxation tor this year) would only raise them six hundred and seventeen dollars. At the request of some ot the mem­ bers, Judge Murphy came before the Board and stated that tiie amtmnt of his fees as attorney for the county in the suit now pending, of the Town of Mcllenry vs. the County ot McHenry, would probably be #50 in the Circuit Court and #100 each if carried to the Appellate and Supreme Courts, and that lie considered the cliuncea of the success ot the County iu tiijs syit good. Supervisor Curtiss said he had no au­ thority to stale as to the fees of A. B. Coon. Esq..the oilier attorney in this case.but they would, no doubt, be the same as those of ot'jer good attorneys for like service. The teacher is forced to kaop the room tightly closed in order to ' preserve the proper temperature.
