Axtell died ffcst Friday very suddenly of apoplexy. 6e was about town in the morning and was seen and conversed with by a number of our citizens, but before noon be bad passed away, Mr. Axtell was nearly seventy-seven years of age. Qe was honored and respected by all who knew him. The funeral was conduct­ ed by the Masonic fraternity, and was one of tbe largest ever seen In our town. Mr, Jared Teeple, who went to Ala­ bama last fall on account of continued poor health died at Nashville, Tenn., last Monday while on hli way home. His body reached this piece Wednes­ day evening and the funeral exercises were held Thursday afternoon at the residence of his mother. The election passed efi very quietly.
