About twenty-five of the friends of Miss Mildred Waterman surprised her at the home of her aunt, Miss Anna Waterman, last Wednesday evening, it being her 16th birthday. The size of the foundations for the cattle barns are to be 70x86 with an additional feed bin 16x20 and a storm shed. The size of the horse barns are to be 30x86 and 82x88. All the other old buildings will be torn down and before fall the Corners will be greatly improved. The lumber is ex­ pected daily from the great forest of Washington, about 80,000 feet. Matthews was elected school director, Saturday evening, to succeed himself. Mr. and Mrs. Chas Wilmington of Nnnda visited with their son, Henry, and family Monday. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Starritt spent part of last week with the former's mother at Terra Cotta. The basket social given Monday even ing by the teacher and ipuplis of onr school proved to be a very enjoyable affair. The school house was crowded and the baskets sold very high. The program was excellent, each number be­ ing delivered in an able manner, show­ ing the good work being done by onr efficient teacher.
