Risvold was suffering from a bad cold, which developed into pneu monia, and under Dr. Freeman's ad vice was taken to the Elgin hospital where she will receive the best of care. Mr. Risvold accompanied her. He reports that she arrived in a com fortable condition. W. H. Monroe and wife of Wood' stock attended services at the Presby' terian church. They were entertained for dinner at the W. E. Dike home They also called on Mr. Button and his sister. Smith, who recently underwent an operation for appeudicites at the Washington Blvd. hospital in Chicago, returned to her home here on Tuesday of last week and is fast regaining her strength. She is able to be up and around. M rs. Jacob Miller is on the road to recovery. Her many friends will be pleased to, hear this as for a time it looked as tho she would not be able to withstand the ravages of the disease with which she has been afflicted. She is still in the care of iftrained nurse, who, it is expected, wili soon have her so that she may be able to leave her bed. No seining or catching fish in any other way than with line and hook will be allowed in Fox river on and after next Saturday, May 1. Those who have been in the habit of getting iish from the river in any other than the lawful way had better take warning, as the wardens will see to it that the new law will be strictly enforced after ^Saturday. The body of Miss Josephine Schaefer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schaefer, who reside near Dighton, was brought here for burial on Tuesday morning of this week. The funeral took place from St. John's Catholic church, Rev. Weber officiating. The deceased has never been strong and took to her bed about weeks before her death. She was eighteen years of age. The family has the sympathy of our people. The Henry Hettermann house here is undergoing quite extensive improve ments. A new addition is being built onto same, while other changes for the better are also under way. Hubert Karls is doing the mason work, while John Mertes is the carpenter on the job.
