Lake County Independent:^ Attor ney Orvis has received notice from the supreme court clerk that the court has set aside the verdict in the case of Mrs. John Richardson vs. Mrs. John Raymond, deceased, one of the Volo women defendants in the famous rail-riding case.. Attorney Pope, for the defense, appealed from the judgment of the circuit court and, according to the understanding now, the case will be tried over again in the circuit court. Mrs. Raymond, it is recalled, died before settlement was ever made after judgment was procured fojlowing Mrs. Richardson's suit for damages from the Volo women. Mr. Orvis has written for a copy of the opinion of the .court. It is recalled that as Mrs. Rayniond was the only one of the five women de fendants who was said to have property which' covered the judg ment, effort was made by Mrs. Rich ardson's counsel to recover from her for the entire sum.
