Lang and Dr. W. H. Streng, Richmond lawyer and physician, who were killed at Wau- kegan on Nov 20, says the Harvard Herald. State's Attorney D. R. Joslyn will appear as the attorney in the damage proceedings, which will be based on the fact that the electric railway company in question was exceeding the speed limit at the time of the fatality, as the city of Waukegan has an ordinance stipulating ten miles an hour as the speed limit for electric cars and that the ill-fated car that killed the young lawyer and physician was running forty-five miles an hour, according to the testi mony of the motorman at the cor oner's inquest. The electric line referred to ac cepted an ordinance from the city of Waukegan providing that gates would be erected at such crossings as the municipality might designate, and the Belvidere street crossing, where the two Richmond men were killed, was a crossing where it was asked by the city that gates be erected. What are known as zig zag gates were put up. but the gates provided by ordinance were not. State's Attorney Joslyn is busy in nfany of the preliminaries in con nection with gathering evidence and getting ready for the suits for both Mrs. Lang and Mrs. Streng and it is understood papers in both actions will be ready in'a few days.
