She often told of having seen the body of Abraham Lincoln when it lay in state at the Court House in Chicago. She entertained grandchildren with stories of the Chicago fire.

Survived by: three daughters, Mrs. Fred Pfingsten, Northbrook; and Mrs. George Ward and Mrs. Willard Hank, both of Wheeling; and six sons: Bob, Henry, and Elmer of Glenview; Ted and Norman of DesPlaines; and Nicholas of Chicago; 28 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.
