Wicks, member of the hospital's board of Wicks is also general co-chairman of the campaign to. raise 1500,000 to construct soul equip an' enlargement to the hospital. The stud} ,. was made by direct mail questionaires to a croessection of former patient of the hospital, both inside the city of Woodstock and in the remainder of McHenry county. Three hundred questionnaires were mailed to patients who were hospitalised during the years 1040, IMS and 1047. Wicks said. "Opinion* of persons hospitalised in these years should represent the attitude of patients toward Woodstock hospital bifore the war, during tht war and today," he added. This year's patients answering the questionnaire agreed 100 per cent that Woodstock needed a new addition. "This is understandable," Wicks commented, "as they ;have had an opportunity to witnesr first hand the crowded conditions and the need for additional facilities today." The personal attitude of non-professional people--maids, porters, orderlies, etc.--of the hospital was judged "pleasant" by more than 45 per cent of the patients and "all right" by 54 per cent. The quality of food and food service, an important factor in the treatment on any patient, commented Wicks, was also rated as excellent by a majority of the 1947 patients, both from inside Woodstock and in the surrounding area. Of those queried, 92 per cent stated that they had received enough food to satisfy their appetites." y:r> ' ,'-T* * jT ' ' ",rs 1" kZ »' '* ' • a vvftr orders for new cars, and for those whpTnay be interested in placing an order with us in ' :• ~ ~ & ' - ' ' f .7>": J'*? future.
