MS;\> . : (by Marie Schaettgen|f ; , Easter--the Holy Day tit Th« Resurrection--the day that marks the re-birth of the vernal season. Easter--the day almost two thousand years ago that saw the Resurrection of Christ as it has been seen each year the Renaisscence of nature throughout the world. Easter has been the symbol for hope renewed strength and courage reborn. Renewal of hope, hope that somehow the miracle ot spring might reach the heart of mankind; hope that its magic might touch the hearts of those who control the destiny of man in this maddened world. We need this hope" now more than ever before, now that our world seems to be hovering once again, as it did in the Dark Ag$s of not too long ago, on the edge of the deep, abysmal chasm of destruction. . We "hope that, somehow, these ,men might remember the One who , gave His life to save hian's soul-- the One to whom no sacrifice was too great--no obstacle too formidable for Him to overcome. He met His daily , disappointments with a smile, He returnoi good for evil. He asked forgiveness tor those who betrayed Him, pleading that * "they know not -what they do." v The world was dark then, as itow, but through the darkness the Spirit of Jesus cast a beautiful light, a Beacon Light of Faith to guide them back again--those poor lost humans--to the Landi of Hope. We can help those wko now have lost the way. We can lead them back to that Beacon Light once more. The way lies clear along the path of our own belief. Our eyes must pierce the blackness and .see through to the greenness of spring on this feast of \be Resurrection. Our eyes must see the silver lining in these dark clouds. Our eyes must see that though the way is long and the hill is steep, at the top we shall find tlie magnificent splendor of that Holy Beacon. And it shall bring comfort to us and peace.
