In said County beg leave to submit the following report on the matters before them. That we met at the site of said bridge on the 24th day of February, 1951. together with the County Superintendent of Highways, the Highway Commissioner and the Supervisor of the Town of Nunda. The bridge was a concrete arch on field stone walls 14 foot span and 12 feet high. The concrete arch is crooked and settling and may soon fail. Th«0 wails are in bad shape and are being undermined. The roadway width was only 14.5 feet. We decided that a new structure was necessary and that the matter was an emergency one. We hereby recommend that the prayer of the petition be granted. We further recommend that 2-8 foot diameter galvanized corrugated metal pipes each about 50 feet long be Installed together with rip-rap and concrete protection of the embankment. This would save between 1 and 2 thousand dollars over a concrete structure. If the pipes are ordered now while they are still available, they could be installed within the next month or so. The Town of Nunda would do the filling and widening of the embankment. The cost to be paid out of the tax levied for County Aid on Town Bridges, anticipated if necessary.
