"LITTLE WARRIORS" HOLD FIRST PLACE IN SWANI LEAGUE the road all month, they play a home game a week from Friday vs. the high-scoring Marengo five. Coach Fultoil has a problem due to the loss of Stan Aim, high scoring guard. Stan suffered an ankle injury at Burlington and has been hobbling on crutches this week. Grant that I may not criticize my neighbor until I have walked his moccasins. --Indian prayer. Some changes are being .made ' and MCHS has now been included , in the North Suburban League. ^ McHenry will still compete in the Swani football group next season, but there is still some uncertainly as to basketball. The changes are being tossed around at meetings and more information will be released soon. DAILY PINUPS: Red, red roses and violets blue, Spring's in the air but taxes are due. Since time immemorial we tell time, time tells us and time marches on. When a man stands up for his rights no man can walk over him. A sudden flash of 6ilence can be as sparkling as a glowing tribute. The Indians called! it "deepknowing", some others term it Intuition, but it's depth is beyond shallow reasoning. Anonymous Stan will be lost to the team for an indefinite period. At the close of the quarter, we trailed 42-23. The Warriors seemed to come to life for a while in the final quarter, but it was too good to last Burlington kept driving and amassed 16 points to our 13. Quick counted 7 more to his total. The game ended with the Warriors going down in defeat 58-36. In their next game the Warriors will travel to Whitewater, tomorrow night. Previously this season, the Warriors whipped Whitewater 42-38, but as you can see this means nothing. However, should the Warriors find their spirit and hit like they are capable of doing, I doubt if we can lose. J"ck Pepping At Toast McHenry can boast of one first place team, our J. V.'s, who gave it all they had Friday night. By taking Burlington they kept a firm grip on first place in their conference. The win was their seventh in a row. Loren Freund was the sparkplug in the Warriors offense as he hit for 16. It was nip aad tuck all the way until the final quarter when the Warriors really put on the steam. Fine team ball was again responsible for victory as it has ulso been in their last 7 games. In the third quarter they widened their slim 16-14 half-time' lead to 23-19. Then came the final quarter when they surged into a 33-21 leadL Loren Freund's shooting kept the Warriors in the game and in the last quarter it was Lyle "Lunk" Davidson who put it on ice. Lyle saved 6 of his 7 points for the final quarter. Coach Cuda's boys seem to have come into their own and we sure hope they grab that championship. Keep it up J. V.'s, we're proud of yon.
