The deceased was born in Ohio in 1873 and resided, in Lake county most of her life until moving to McHenry three years ago, whye she has lived with a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Rosing. Until her fall, she had been in good health and enjoyed her favorite hobby of crocheting. IT Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rosing and Mrs. Emma Caldwell of Lockport, 111., two sons, John of Grayslake and Henry of Mundelein; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Leonard, preceded her in death fifteen years ago. The body rested at the George Justen & Son funeral Jhome u*»Ml 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, .when last rites were conducted im St. Mary's Catholic church, McHenry, with burial in Ascension cemetery, near Libertyville. Elliott Corbett of the Community Methodist church will attend 113th session of the [jflftock River annual conference of ^ihe Methodist church, to be held in Pfeiffer hall, North Central college, Naperville, HI., from June 24 to 28. Carl Buckner will attend as a lay delegate. Bishop J. Ralph Magee, resident bishop, will preside and give the daily devotional addresses at 11:45 a.m. Dr. Allan Billman, minister at Embury Methodist chuurch, Freeport, 111., will deliver J>%he Memorial address. llcltenry firemen were called to the Harry Nielsen residence on north Park street about 10 o"clock Monday morning, shortly after lightning had struck the chimney. No fire resulted but there was considerable other damage. Several bricks were knocked from the chimney and the bolt continued farther and destroyed some pipes. An upstairs flat and the basement were badly damaged by soot. A second home waa struck by lightning in Monday afternoon's storm. The antenna on the Roy Schaefer residence in ^Millstream subdivision was struck and the bolt followed a lead-in wire. Mrs. Schaefer, arriving home during the storm, saw the lightning strike and by the time firemen could be summoned the set was in flames. The local dfpartment confined damage to the set, which was destroyed, and to drapes and window sills in the corner where the television was located. A new Boy Scout troop has been formed In McHenry and there Is a need for more boys between the ages of 11 and 13. The committee in • charge includes Harry Hans, Scoutmaster; Pat Ullrich, chairman; Matt Eichinger, treasurer; Pete Hastings, advancement; Ed Wittrock, secretary; Robert Walter, board of review; H. V. Jackson, publicity and public relations. Members to date are Matt Eichinger, Richard Herdrich, Richard Hester, Alfred Miller, Mark Allen Vycital and Dick Wlrta. Bust* mm* Br um A McHenry ore* chad, Marie Nelson, fty, was reporte-1 to have beon badly bitten by a dog while visiting at the home of her grandparents, the Raymonda Nelsons, in Hartland township Monday of this week. The litle girl was takert to the Woodstock hospital, where thirtyfour stitches were taken in her face and arms. The dog has been tied up for a fourteen-day period so that authorities may ascertain whether or not the animal, haa rabies. CHURCH SPEAKEii * Herman Will, Jr., administrative assistant for the Methodist Peace commission, will speak this Sunday, June 29, at both the 9:30 and 11 o'clock services at the Community Methodist church. His subject will be, "What the Church Can Do For Peace." Mrs. Kreismanis, an interesting and dynamic speaker, recently received her M.A. degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois. This year's meeting will be held at Westwood school following a dessert luncheon at 12:30. It will be called to order by the president, Mrs. Earl Johnson.
