Vases of White gladioli and chrysanthemums decorated each side of the improvised altar in the spacious lawn of the Howorka home. The bride chose a sheer nylon dress of a soft blue tone and in street length for her wedding and With it she wore all white accessories. She carried a bouquet of stephanotis and white cattleya orchids. She was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. Barbara Howorka, sisterin- law of the bride, served as honor attendant. She wore a nylon sheer in a pale green tone, white accessories, and carried pink carnations. R i c h a r d C h r i s t o p h e r s e n o f Wonder Lake and Chicago served the bridegroom as best man. Mrs. Howorka wore a grap silk shantung dress and the bridegroom's mother chose a gray and orchid nylon print. Both mothers wore white accessories and orchid corsages. A reception for 100 guests was held in the Howorka home at 6 p.m., with a buffet supper served by Mrs. Etta Schau. The three-tiered wedding cake was cut and served by Mrs. Anne Nagel, Wonder Lake. The home was decorated with white bell sand the serving table was centered by a miniature bridal party of suitably clad dolls. The bride, who was graduated from McHenry high school and who has had two years study at the American Conservatory of Music, has been employed by Ivar Fredricksen at Wonder Lake Builders Supply. The bridegroom, who was graduated from Woodstock Community high school, studied at Normal and is • on military 14ave from TWA. He is a corporal fn the Marine corps, serving in aviation electronics. The couple left for Lake of the Ozarks, where they will honeymoon before leaving for the west coast, where he is temporarily on military assignment. The bride chose a navy costume and a corsage of white orchids for her honeymoon trip. All bouquets and floral decorations for the wedding were created by the bride's uncle, Herbert Grabig, Chicago. She- was married to the son of Ben Klapperich of Meyer, Jowa, at St. John's church in a double ring service. BIRTHS A daughter was barn on July 14 at the Woodstock hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Orville Freund. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Himpelman are the parents of a daughter, Barbara Kay, born at the Woodstock hospital July IS. The Himpelmans have five other children, three boys and two girls. McHenry friends will be interested to learn that their third son was born July 12 at Swedish American hospital in Rockford to Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Roche of that city. The infant, weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz., has been named Richard James. Mr. Roche was a former faculty member at the local high school. JOAN HEU WOODSTOCK MJUt CANDLELIGHT KITE ^ A lovely candlelight wedding service was solemnized in Woodstock's methodist church last week Wednesday, July 9, whan Miss Joan Heilman, daughter of Otto Heiiman of Wonder Lake, became the bride of Lyle Lade** foged, airman second class, soli of Mr. .and Mrs, James Lade* foged of Woodstock. The service was read at 7 p.m. by Rev. Firestove. Miss Hettman was charming in a white butcher linen suit, with white hat fb which" was attached a short veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnatipns. Her only attendant was Mrs. Ellen Murphy of Wonder Lake, who wore a dress styled similarly to that of the bride, In aqua color. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Russell Zoia of Woodstock served as best man. A reception was held at t&e Mill Inn at Wonder Lake for the bridal party and members of the immediate families, after which the newlyweds left ori a trip to Cave of the Mounds, Madisoo* Wis. They will reside at San "Antonio, Texas. The bride graduated in 1900 from the McHenry high school and has been employed as sec* retary for the Worthington Manufacturing company in Chicago. The bridegroom is now stationed with the Air Force in Texas. • Open house was held for about seventy relatives and friends on Sunday at the Ladefoged home in Woodstock. I THANK WWt Rev. Fr. More than 1,000 attended the Sunday dinner and many were present for the other carnival attractions. 10 BUSY A meeting of the Busy Three 4-H club was held at the home of the Hogans on July 7 at 8 p.m. That was our last meeting before the fair so everyone had to make out their entry blanks. A motion was made that we send Arnold Freund a gift when he returns from the hospital. The entire club wishes him a speedy return. The next meeting will be held at the home of Loren Freund on Aug. 8.
