Ivan Rasputin, the bearded rugged heavyweight of Russian descent and Reggie Lisowski of Polish descent are paired against Walter Palmer, of Des Plaines and Billy Goelz, of Fox Lake. The match is to a two out of three fall verdict with a sixty Larkin and a home run by Paul1 minute time limit. Judson scored four more rims. It's pretty well known around the circuit that those Tigers of Johnsburg are strong finishers. They showed the same stuff again last Sunday at Algonquin in winning a 6 to 4 game in 11 Innings. The game* was so fully packed with thrills and heroics that one can hardly, find a starting place in relating events. Willie Klapperich was the winning pitcher, but travelled a rough road to victory. His control was off as 10 walks (one intentional) will bear out. But, Willie was around at the finish, pitching on a swollen leg. and with a stout heart all the way. Stan Mavis had a lot of zing in his pitches and carried the fight into the eleventh before switch ing positions with Don Blanken. Klapperich walked two batters in the third, but might have escaped had Charlie Hiller completed a double play as well as he started it. Charlie took Boyd's hopper near third, stepped on the bag to force Moehle, then threw high over first. Blanken stepped up to send a murderous triple to left, scoring two runs. Algonquin scored a run in the fourth and another in the *ifth as Mavis held the Johnsburg power in check. It was a walk to Broederdorf, a hit by Bangert and a run-scoring fly to center that counted the run in the fourth. Freddie Tipps led off the fifth with a double and moved to third when Boyd pushed a hit through second to cross up a special shift in the defense. Tipps scored on Blanken's fly to center. More Threats That was all the scoring for Algonquin in spite of serious threats in every inning. For instance the seventh when the strategy board decided to walk Blanken., to fill the bases. It worked as Boyd grounded to Howie Freund who stepped on •econd and fired to first for a double play to end the inning. Hie Tigers bunched their hits hi the sixth, to score four runs and tie up the ball game. Art Jackson led off with a triple close to the left field line. Dick Hiller walked. Si Meyer forced Hiller at second. Pitsen and Huemann lowered the boom with a double and triple, Huemann scoring the tying run on a single by Charlie Hiller. Some slick defensive work kept Algonquin from ending festivities in the ninth. F. Tipps was on first with a pass when Boyd slammed a triple to the far corner of left field. Ted Pitzen, who played a great game, recovered CUB SCOUTS WILL PRESENT FIRELIGHT CEREMONY IN CITY , »'On Oct. 4 the sky over McHenry win be lighted by the glow of a huge council fire and by the path of fire arrows finding their way back to earth. The wind will carry the throb of torn toms and the weird cries of Indians in their fascinating dances to their spirits of the great beyond. An Indian village such as no living person in this area has ever seen will again live on one of the probable sites it once occupied 150 years or more ago. On this night of October 4 the Cub Scouts of Pack 362 of McHenry will present for the approval of the people of McHenry and the surrounding area a Webelos firelight ceremony. The preparation for this program has been, and will be, carried on all summer by the Cubs in order to ready themselves for this first outdoor activity. The boys are making, complete Indian costumes, each of which will be created according to his own taste and admiration of a particular tribe. The Webelos award will be presented to a number of boys who have completed all the objectives arid activities Cub Scouting ha« to offer. The next step in the Scouting program that is offered to them will be the rank of Tenderfoot Scout, after which a whole new world of adventure and knowledge will be open to them. The people of the McHenry area are urged to help honor these boys by , being present on this night of Saturday, Oct.„4, at the V.F.W. park. The Lakers scored in the eighth on three singles. They might have had more but a perfect throw by Bill Bolger erased Wollert trying to go from first to third on Feffer's single to right. In the ninth a walk to Kingston and a triple by Jim scored the final run for Crystal Lake. The final score 17 to 5. Howie | Mavis, p relayed perfectly to Huemann to nail Tipps and keep that winning run away from the plate. Again in the tenth Algonquin was stopped when it looked like the game was over. Koch walked and was sacrificed to second. Zange drove what looked to be the finisher deep into center, but Art Jackson got under it and doubled Koch. This Does It > Tom Huemann, who had three hits besides fining right into Bob Tipps' hands, started the eleventh inning clincher with a hit to left. Klapperich sacrificed and both runners moved ahead wheat F. Tipps threw wild. Charlie Hiller then came through with his fourth hit to put Huemann across with the winning run. Klapperich stayed on second. Blanken replaced Mavis. Katz attempted to sacrifice, but wound up with a hit to his credit as he trewit Blanken's throw to first. iWwie Freund tapped in front of the plate. Boyd stepped on the plate and threw to first for a double play. Art Jackson's hit to left scored Hiller, but Katz was nailed for the third out as Bob Tipps made a perfect throw to the plate. » Klapperich set down Mavis on a swinging third strike in the eleventh, then caused a stir by walking bpth R. Tipps and Wilbrandt. Howie Freund took F. Tipps fly ball and Ted Pitzen hustled back to hand in Boyd's hard drive for the final out. Brother--that was a ball game! There were fielding gems that may have been slipped in review such as a somersault catch by Si Meyers on a low liner off Mavis' bat in the , sixth. In that same inning, Dick Hiller made a onehand stab to rob Bob Tipps of a hit. Then, we saw Lefty Bangert race around a tree in right field and get under Howie Freund's drive in the ninth.
