Packing a Man's Suit is Just a Matter of Know-Htw If you're the typical man who has trouble packing a suit for • trip without tying it into a knot or, at least, creasing it out of shape, take heart. A leading men's clothing company, with literally millions «,of packed and wrinkle-free suits to its credit, will let you in on its technique: Start with the jacket, keeping in mind that folds should follow the natural lines of the body as closely as possible. Put the jacket on a fiat surface, front side up but unbuttoned Next, fold the trousers in half, at the knees, and lay them across the top of the jacket. Fold the jacket sleeves at the elbow so that they cover the trousers and form a V. Fold up the bottom half of the jacket to completely cover the trouse^, et voila--the suit is all ready to be placed in the bag. And another packing tip: Pack shirts on top, front to front. If the laundry puts cardboard in the collars, remove before packing. That's the advice of G. R. Cunningham, extension farm forester at the University of Illinois. College of Agriculture. Cunningham says a good mulch will prevent deep freezing of the Soil moisture around your trees. This is especially important for evergreens because they keep their foliage all year round and lose moisture from their needles in cold, drying winter winds. r If the soil moisture around tvergreens is frozen so- that the ree can't use it to replace the iftmstuiNf. lost through the folia g e , t h e n e e d l e s • w i l l d i e . I f enough needles are l o s t , ih<> whole tree will die," the forested points out. Another 'advantage of mulch the year., 'round for your ever- ,'green windbreak is that it acts as a moisture barrier for the soil during dry spells and keep;* the ground from drying out. Much also acts as a sponge to absorb rain and snow and prevent erosion, and it keeps doWti weeds and grass that compete for soil moisture. First choice of a mulch would be composted manure. Competed manure is manure that has been mixed with straw, whed chips, • bedding materials, loaves or grass clippings. Cunningham warns that manure compos!, used for mulch should be at least two months old. Used alone, manure is likely to cause a severe "burning" of the roots. Other good mulches are old straw or hay, peat moss, ground cobs and~~wood chips, Remedies at Wattles Drug Store, McHenry. ~ 8-tf Removing Mnstard ~ Mustard oozing from hot ddfHI or hamburgers on picnics on yoilr clothes needn't ruin your day!
