The Legion started the first inning as if (they intended to massacre Sonny. The first three men up singled, scoring one run. Farney batting with men on first and third grounded to McCulla, who stepped on first for the first out and his throw to Bolger was in time to double Bruhn going to second. Tennant then flied to left for the third out. Ruff corn starting for the Leg- Ion walked Molidbr, Bill Bolger McCulla and Miller, forcing in a run. Westfall replaced Ruffcom on the mound. Bolger scored on a passed ball, the other runners moving up to second and third. Stilling struck out. Nolan grounded to the pitcher and McCulla was nailed at the plate. Miller scored on a balk on Westfall. Knox ended the inning with a fly ball to right. Shamrocks scoring three runs on no hits. In the' third for the Elgin Legion. Dusek and Kuntzmiller singled with one out. Bruhn grounded to Knox at second. Knox threw to Bolger at second to force Kuntzmiller and Bolger's throw to McCulla at first doubled Brubn. Carroll overruled a motion for a change of venue in the Johnsburg school case, then a short time later, of, his own volition, assigned the case to Judge Bernard Decker bf Waukegaq. Judge Carroll turned down the motion by the attorney for Mrs. Dorothy Larson for the reason that he considered the cause insufficient. The exact date that Judge Decker will set the case for trial is not known, but because of a sixty-day extension of time granted state officials named in Mrs. Larson's charge to file an answer, it will not be for at least eight weeks. ^ Twenty young people jweeived their First Holy Communion in an Impressive service which took plaCe - at St. John's church, Johndburg, on June 14. Music was furnished by George Freund and his band. The M.T.R.A. has now decided to sponsor a picnic at the V.F.W. park some time in July for all M.T.R.A. members. TRICYCLE STOLEN FROM CITY; ' STREETS PAST WEEK Lee Vance, who delivers the Plaindealer each Thursday in the east part of McHenry, is minus a fine bicycle since last Friday when his mode of transportation was stolen from Green street. Lee had left his bike when he visited the dentist and found it gone when he returned from the office a short time later. If anyone has knowledge of the whereabouts of the bicycle, Lee would .appreciate |t very much if they would call the Plaindealer office, phone 170. It is English style, green with, black trim.
